Yesterday was munchies, today is party decor! Now, some of the menfolk may balk at decor and nice snacks and silly games, and want their greasy pizza and stale beer. But after months of holiday parties from Halloween through New Year's, a Super Bowl party, marooned in the middle of the longest stretch of winter, may be the most festive thing going, so they'll have to deal with it!
Get The Party Started
Evite has a few themed invites, but you know you want to class it up. They can be as simple as making pennants from stiff felt and attaching party info.
If you don't know about them already, Paper & Cake's Super Bowl party download has everything you need, from the invite to napkin rings. Paper Style has an amazing selection of themed invites.
Or you can go super-classy with this Yum Box invite. Sadly, they are no longer in production, but you can duplicate by adding a piece of grass scrapbooking paper, some confetti and similar football figures like these from Kaskey Kids to mailable boxes.
Setting The Scene
Check out Entertain Exchange's football party; easily adapted for your team's colors, I love how she used tinsel as vase filler and pennants for a table runner.I just love how Mitzvahlicious displayed their pennants using real peanuts. Make your own in each team colors; after being used during the game, they'll make a great take-home favor. And how easy is their centerpiece idea?I'm in love with Real Simple's magazine spread...don't you love their table runner? It's chalkboard Contact Paper, and they drew out yard lines with chalk and a ruler. Coasters from AstroTurf and potted wheatgrass round out the simple yet effective tablescape. And those clever drink tags for the beer steins are just scalloped circles and sticker numbers.Check out Social Couture's tabletop using their grass and the previously mentioned football figures. I heart the rose boxes and psst...the grass is on sale.Send Them Home With A Smile
I'm inspired by Just Deanna's favors from her son's football party; they are popcorn holders with a mini microwave popcorn, bite sized candy bars, mini #1 foam fingers and mini football missiles.
Still stumped? Check out last year's post...
***UPDATE*** I totally forgot to add this in; go check out today's ultimate Fiesta Friday over at the awesomeness that is Me And My Insanity, it's her 2nd blogoversary and she's having a party party!
