What started as an local New England-area fundraiser has evolved into Hyundai Hope on Wheels, an independent nonprofit organization which is supported nationwide by all of Hyundai’s 800-plus dealers and Hyundai Motor America.
At the end of 2010, Hyundai Hope on Wheels will have donated more than $23 million to children’s hospitals nationwide to help kids fight cancer. Every time a new Hyundai vehicle is sold in the U.S., $5 is donated to Hope on Wheels.
During this month, Hyundai Motor America and its dealers will donate $6.8 million to Hope on Wheels. They launched “Hyundai Gives Hope on Wheels” in Washington, D.C. and are embarkingmg on a national tour to distribute the funds in the form of “Hope Grants” in the amount of $100,000 each to 68 hospitals and other nonprofit organizations around the country that conduct childhood cancer research and/or provide support to children with cancer.
