Drink Of The Week - Cabo Wabo Tequila Christmas Cocktails

There are so many amazing Christmas beverages out there, but I bet you never thought of 'Christmas' and 'tequila'. Did you know that rocker Sammy Haggar has his own tequila?

This holiday season “Deck the Halls” with some rockin’ twists on festive cocktail favorites. Recipes created by Raul Yrastorza of Las Perlas in Downtown, LA, courtesy of SKYY Vodka.

BLITZEN’S MEXICAN EGG NOG
4 egg yolks
1/3 cup sugar, plus 1 tablespoon
1 pint whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
4 ounces Cabo Wabo Reposado
1 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
4 egg whites

1. In a bowl, beat the egg yolks until they lighten in color.

2. Gradually add the 1/3 cup sugar and continue to beat until it is completely dissolved.

3. Add the milk, cream, Reposado and nutmeg and stir to combine.

4. Place the egg whites in the bowl and beat to soft peaks. With the mixer still running gradually add the 1 tablespoon of sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.

5. Whisk the egg whites into the mixture. Chill and serve. Top each egg nog with grated cinnamon and nutmeg.

EL DIABLO DEL INVIERNO
¾ oz ginger syrup
¾ oz Creme de Casis
¾ oz lime juice
2 oz Cabo Wabo Blanco
1 bar spoon or teaspoon Tapatio hot sauce
garnish: ginger candy, lime

1. Combine all ingredients. Shake with ice and strain over ice.

2. Garnish with a ginger candy and a lime.


TEA-QUILA TODDY
1 hibiscus tea bag
agave nectar to taste
cinnamon stick
fresh cilantro or basil
3-6 Cloves
2 oz Cabo Wabo Blanco
8 oz Water
orange slice

1. Heat water in a sauce pan or tea kettle until hot, but be careful not to boil. Remove from heat, add one tea bag and three cloves, and steep for 2-3 minutes.

2. In a large glass tea cup, combine Cabo Wabo Tequila with a cinnamon stick, one clove, cilantro and orange slice. Remove tea bag from the hot tea, and pour into mug.
