Have you ever wondered what became of Disney's most famous villains? What if Cruella De Vil ever became a mother? How would the Evil Queen raise her own daughter? Should you be the person everyone expects you to be or should you to be true to yourself?

These questions and more are answered in Disney's Descendants, Disney Channel's original movie that premiered last week.  It's all about the children of villains attending school with the children of fairytale couples and heroes, from Cinderella and Prince Charming's son to Fairy Godmother's daughter.

FYI...lots of pictures ahead, so get yourself a snack and your favorite beverage and sit for a spell...

I was more than excited to host a villainous watch party with a spooky tablescape with some crafty fun and treats.  Who says the princesses should have all the fun?  Plus, Kristin Chenoweth starring as Maleficent? I'm so there...

Today, I'm sharing tips and ideas for hosting your own watch party...the DVD and soundtrack released the same day the movie premiered, so you can head down to Walmart and pick them both up plus a few supplies.  With Halloween coming up before you know it, this is also a perfect way to celebrate in spooky style!

I focused my decor to celebrate the villains of the movie; Maleficient from Sleeping Beauty, Jafar from Aladdin, the Evil Queen from Snow White and Cruella De Vil from 101 Dalmatians.

Food is the most important aspect of any get-together...besides the typical popcorn (Snow White popcorn, anyone?) and candy fare when watching a movie, we had a little fun coming up with other treats. I love using candy melts; the possibilities are endless! You can find them in the cake decorating aisle of your favorite craft store.

The highlight of our table was our cake; my favorite bakery created the plain Cruella De Cake with chocolate drizzle, so I could customize it perfectly for our theme.
Disney's Descendants Watch Party; candy treasure chests

I printed a smaller runner for our second table so I could showcase one of the most clever ideas I came across that I needed for this party, candy treasure chests made from Kit-Kats! The Cave Of Wonders would be proud.

They make the perfect send-off; package them up in small boxes for your guests to take home.  You can even turn it into a party activity for guests to make themselves! You know I love my double-duty projects. And yes, more of my homemade candy jewels are peeking out.

Disney's Descendants Watch Party; sand art terrariums

Our requisite party activity is another nod to Aladdin, sand art terrariums!  You remember sand art bottles from summer camp...now we are putting a little twist on them that I know everyone will enjoy making!

What you'll need:

small glass containers with wide mouths (check your local dollar store for inexpensive ones)
plastic animals and plants
colored sand
scoops or plastic spoons

Basic layering with different colors is fun, but if you want to get funky with it, pour a color in, then angle your container so the sand collects on one side.  Carefully pour in the second color, then carefully top with the third layer.

Add your plastic animals and plants and you're set!

I hope you have been inspired to host a villainous watch party for Disney's Descendants, for a special family night in or a rockin' Halloween party! Be sure and click here to the official movie site for lots of games and activities.

Do you have a favorite Disney Villain? I love Jafar and Iago, they are a classic comedy duo!
