Grab And Go Snack Ideas With Dannon® Danimals®

Fall is almost here, which means I am back on the sports-chauffeuring hamster wheel. The little one will be back in soccer and my oldest is adding cross-country to our schedule. I'm always on the hunt for post-practice and team snacks that help refuel and keep them healthy.  I'm partnering with Dannon® Danimals® to share how their smoothies are the perfect on-the-go option to pair with good snack options to help fuel kids' adventures.

By creating grab and go snack ideas ahead of time, you can avoid the last-minute snack rush; kids can  grab what they need on the way out to practice. Dannon® Danimals® Smoothies are a great addition because they provide "Only the Good Stuff®" with no high fructose corn syrup or artificial flavors, and are a good source of calcium and vitamin D.

Grab And Go Snack Ideas With Dannon® Danimals® pantry bin

With a little prep, you can create refrigerator and pantry snack bins.  No more 'Mom, what can I have for snack?' Kids can choose an item from each bin to enjoy with their smoothies. Not only are these bins great for sports practice snacks, but at-home snacking as well.

Grab And Go Snack Ideas With Dannon® Danimals® refrigerator bins

If you don't have them, get started with small bins that will fit in your refrigerator and pantry, small, inexpensive plastic containers and resealable plastic bags. Pre-packaged snacks are a great convenience but can be costly; keep costs down by packaging your own snacks.

I like to mix and match both...because I am not making my own granola bars, no matter how hard Pinterest tries to tell me how easy it is.

Use a dry-erase marker on your bins to write instructions or a easy snack-pairing menu.

Here are a few ideas to get your pantry snack bin started:

granola and cereal bars
Goldfish crackers
pretzels
trail mix
dried fruit
popcorn
dry cereal
crackers
fruit leather
raisins
graham crackers/sticks
tortilla chips

Here are a few ideas to get your refrigerator snack bin started:

apple slices
orange wedges
grapes
ready to eat or chopped vegetables like baby carrots, grape tomatoes, celery and broccoli
string and mini cheeses
hard meats like pepperoni and salami slices
hummus
hard-boiled eggs
condiments like salsa and dressing
guacamole (you can find small cups at your favorite warehouse store)

With small peanut butter containers; load your favorite snacks on the bottom of a larger container and place the peanut butter cup on top for easy snacking.  Peanut butter pairs well with apple slices, carrots, celery, graham cracker sticks and pretzels,

I like to use dip cups to fill with dressing, salsa or sour cream for my boys' lunches; this idea works perfectly for dunking snacks.  I have foam bowls and lids for our trail mix; these are perfect for cereal eating on the go for early morning breakfasts.

I also added in jumbo straws so they could poke them through the tops of the smoothies to minimize spills and messes.
