Tuesday Tutorial - Mason Jar Cocktails

Yesterday's Party Palette was inspired by a gorgeous fall bouquet that is a was a clue to my collaboration with Eden Hensley of  The Road To The Good Life as part of coLAB.  If you follow me on Instagram, I also did a teaser post, check it out!

Mason jar cocktails are perfect for entertaining all year round!

Today's Tuesday Tutorial is another clue, and one of my favorite ways to entertain.  If you don't have the space (or time) to set up a drink bar, and want an easy way to serve your favorite mixed drinks at your next get-together, make mason jar cocktails! This is a smart and affordable option if you need a lot of glasses and don't want to invest in specialty stemware like martini glasses.  You know you can use mason jars for a thousand other things...

Mason jar cocktails; Slammin' Lemonade and Slammin' Blueberry Lemonade

I know, you are thinking...aren't mason jars more of a summer thing? Nonsense...use them any time of the year to serve everything from cocktails to punch.

Mason jars come in a variety of sizes; I like to use the 4 oz jars because I like my drinks strong but I don't want my party to become a "What Happens In Vegas..." event.  Make a big batch of your drink of choice, fill the jars, then add them to a large container of ice.  Guest can give them a little shake and enjoy the libations.

Here are two of my favorite cocktail recipes; you can never go wrong with a Slammin' Lemonade or a Slammin' Blueberry Lemonade.

Serve mason jar cocktails at your next get-together!

Slammin' Lemonade
3 parts lemonade
1 part vodka
fresh lemon slices for garnish

  1. Combine lemonade and vodka in a large pitcher.
  2. Add ice and garnish to each mason jar, then fill each jar with lemonade.

Slammin' Blueberry Lemonade
1 cup sugar
1 cup lemon juice
1 tsp lemon zest
4 cups sparkling water
2 cups vodka
6 oz fresh or frozen blueberries
lemon slices and blueberries for garnish

  1. Puree blueberries, sugar, lemon juice and zest in a blender or food processor.
  2. Strain mixture into a large pitcher; add vodka and sparkling water.
  3. Add ice and garnishes to each mason jar, then fill each jar with lemonade.

Don't forget cute straws and small containers for guests to discard the lids into....
