As fans of Illumination Entertainment's Despicable Me movies, we were so excited for the summer release of Minions© 2015 Universal Studios, all rights reserved, and celebrated with a pre-movie cereal parfait bar

Now, our favorite summer movie is on Blu-Ray/DVD, which means it's time for another movie-watching party, which I'm excited to share.

Celebrate the release of Minions on Blu-Ray/DVD with a Winter Yeti-land Movie Watching Party

Tiny movie spoiler ahead...since it is wintertime, I thought it would be perfect to create a winter Yeti-land to pay homage to the minions' time serving a Yeti, before his very unfortunate demise.  I'm going to show you how to recreate what I've done for your own movie-watching party!

Minions on Blu-Ray/DVD

First, you need the movie...head to the Minions movie website so you can find out where you can purchase the Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack.  There are so many fun versions like this adorable movie tin.

What You'll Need

2 10-oz bags of white candy melts (found in the candy making section of any big box or craft store)
1 cup of your choice of hard blue, yellow and white candy and sprinkles
small candy eyes
3/4 cup mini marshmallows
large baking sheet
parchment paper

1.  In a large microwavable bowl, melt the candy melt until smooth,  according to the package's microwave directions.
2. Cover your baking sheet or cutting board with parchment paper.
3.  Pour the melted candy onto the parchment paper, and using a spatula, spread it into an even layer about 1/4-inch thick.

4.  Sprinkle your hard candy, mini marshmallows and candy eyes on top, making sure to gently press in the larger items.
5.  Place the baking sheet into the refrigerator to chill for about 20 minutes until the candy has fully hardened.
6.  Remove the candy from the refrigerator and carefully slide it onto a cutting board. Cut the candy into irregularly shaped pieces.

You can serve some at the party and send the rest home as party favors.
