Sadly, our Seattle Seahawks' run to Super Bowl 2016 ended on Sunday...but that doesn't mean the football party is ending for you.
If you are getting ready to cheer on your favorite team in the Super Bowl, I'm sharing a couple of oh-so-easy football themed craft ideas for this month's Whisker Graphics Design Team project
. With a few bags and my free template, keep on reading and find out how you will be decorating your party space in no time.
The first is a referee shirt banner made from black horizontal stripe Middy Bitty Bags
. Download and print out my free shirt template
on cardstock, cut shapes out and use them to trace along the long edge of the bag. Once you cut the shirt out, the folded edge will drape nicely over your twine and not slide, no need for fasteners!
The second craft is creating footballs from circle punches. I punched a 3" circle out of brown cardstock, then positioned the puncher over the circle to punch out an oval shape. A white marker for the lacing detail, and voila, footballs! You can turn them into cupcake toppers by hot-gluing them to lollipop sticks.
Fill kraft brown bags
with your favorite snacks, punch a small hole in the top of your footballs and tie them onto the bags with Divine Twine Diva
in Palos Verdes. Be sure and slip a Middy glassine bag
inside the kraft bag to prevent grease spots.
Of course, I couldn't resist putting together a simple snack cart tablescape...cartscape??...with my favorite gold cart.
I have a love/hate relationship with astroturf. It is such a fun thing to play with, but a messy beast when cutting. I never tire of using it as a tabletop cover. I trimmed some down to top my cart and added fun elements like football glasses, trophy vessels and yellow 'penalty flag' napkins.
Have fun cheering on your favorite team!
